Terry Turrell is the artist who did the painting that I used for the cover of "Runnin' From The Devil". He's the sculptor of the "head" for "Don't Ask". Every time I would see "the head" at Terry's it would seem to look at me questioningly. Maybe it was asking when I was going to get off my ass and put out another recording. "Don't Ask" is the reply. I've known Terry since he started hand painting and selling t-shirts and sweatshirts in the Pike Place Market in Seattle many years ago. His art has always struck a deep resonance within me and his imagery has the power to haunt. In the two links below you can see examples of Terry's art. I believe Terry is one of the most interesting artists working today. That he is called an "outsider artist" doesn't in any way begin to explain the depth and nature of his talent. He has a deep love for music and I think that's one of the many qualities that attracts me to his work. It has a way of playing itself for you.
